Suspects in stabbing of deaf man in 2012 deaf man sentenced

The SA has reported that three people have been sentenced to prison for more than 28 years for their crimes. Davonta Turner was sentenced to 28 to 37 years for stabbing Michael Shull who was 21 year-old that just had graduated from the NC School for the Deaf. The Silent Grapevine reported this story back in 2012.

According to Assistant District Attorney Anna Greene, Aveance Bryant used sign language to persuade Owens to get out of Shull’s truck so Turner could ride them them. Turner then handed a note to Shull stating that he was being robbed. Turner than brandished a knife when Shull decided to fight back, but his self-defense was not enough and Turner killed Shull.
