Popular NTID student Timothy Holmes found dead in townhouse

According to the Democrat & Chronicle, Timothy Holmes, 24, was found dead Wednesday evening inside a Henrietta townhouse. Sheriff’s spokesman Captian John Helfter said that his death is not considered suspicious. Holmes is a graduate student at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) at Rochester Institute of Technology and was living off campus with several other NTID students.

Bob Finnerty, spokesman for RIT, stated that Holmes was

“very popular, visible and active student”

while attending NTID. Homles was found dead in the basement where Holmes’ roommates found him face-down on a mattress around 7:15 pm. His roommates, started to look for him when they returned home Wednesday evening and realized that he wasn’t in his usual spot – doing his class work at a shared table.
A full autopsy will be completed this week by the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the final cause of death.

Last year, Timothy Holmes was featured on RIT/NTID as a success story article.
