Beard up Braam!

If there’s one thing that you should know, it’s that Braam loves to do a good cause and this time, it comes with growing his beard. One thing you should know about Braam Jordaan is that he is always clean shaven. Like, very clean shaven (okay, not always!). So, it was a big deal when he tweeted TSG to let us know that he needs our help as well as yours to help four Deaf South Africans to attend the 6th World Federation of the Deaf Youth Section (WFDYS) to be held in Istanbul, Turkey, July 19-25, 2015.

It’s one thing to shave your head for a cause, but it’s quite another when you have to grow something…especially a beard. Nevertheless, Braam needs your help to raise over $5,000 to cover for the flights, visa and for the camp registration(s).

Braam writes on his Indigogo page that,

Attending WFDYS camp was one of the biggest eye-openers for me. At the WFDYS camps, I was given opportunity to meet so many youths from all kinds of countries all over the world and I got to learn about their countries’ history, culture, sign languages and especially a lot to do with the ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Braam is asking the community as a whole to help him develop new youth leaders coming from the younger generation to take a lead in understanding how to develop better policies for the future, in exchange for doing so, Braam is willing to grow a bead and he pledge not to shave until the first day of Congress.

The purpose of this fundraiser is really simple: I would like to see new youth leaders coming from the younger generation!

TSG hope you do look hot with your new, upcoming beard! 🙂

About Braam Jordaan:

I am currently serving as WFDYS Board Member (WFDYS) and Council Member of UNICEF Global Partnership of Children with Disabilities (UNICEF GPcwd). It’s been life changing experience for me and I was also given a platform to raise issues, to build, to contribute and importantly to make impact at the high-level meetings such as United Nations in New York City.
