How to Plan a Date with a Deaf Woman

Deaf Actress Amanda McDonough gives you some tips on how to plan and go on a date with someone who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing. These same rules apply to hanging out with a Deaf or Hard of Hearing person.

Summary
1. Pick a good place
-good lighting
-no distractions

2. Talk Normally
-don’t yell
-don’t over pronounce

3. Learn a little ASL
-yes, no, thank you

4. Don’t focus on the Hearing Loss
-Let your date decide if they want to
discuss that.
-There is so much more to us than hearing loss.
