Gallaudet athletics inducts 13 into Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society

WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University athletics department inducted 13 student-athletes Tuesday night into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society for demonstrating excellence in athletics and academics.

To be eligible a student-athlete must have a 3.40 grade point average or higher, must be of good moral character, be a varsity sport letterwinner and be a junior or senior academic and athletic standing.

This is Gallaudet’s third Chi Alpha Sigma class as the chapter was established in 2013-14. GU Faculty Athletics Representative Kitty Baldridge honored the new class at the annual athletics banquet in the Field House. New inductees received a medal and graduating seniors received black and yellow honor cords to wear on graduation day. Members of previous years classes, who are now seniors, also received honor cords during the banquet.

This year’s induction class represents 10 different Gallaudet varsity sports, the group represents 10 different states and one student-athlete is from China and one from British Columbia in Canada.
