President Destler announces 2017 retirement

Rochester Institute of Technology President Bill Destler announced May 9 that he will retire at the end of the 2016-2017 academic year. His career in higher education has spanned more than 40 years, with his last decade serving as RIT’s leader. Destler is joined in this video by his wife, Dr. Rebecca Johnson, who also has a leadership role at the university and in the Rochester community. Destler, RIT’s ninth president, began in 2007. A national search will begin for his replacement.
