Bison men's soccer alumni to represent Team USA at 2016 Deaf World Cup

WASHINGTON – Four former Gallaudet University men’s soccer players are trading in their buff and blue kits for red, white and blue kits this summer as they will represent Team USA in the 2016 Deaf World Cup in Italy from June 19-July 2.

The four GU alums on the official Team USA roster are James Rummo (2009-12), Eric Setzer (2011-12, ’15), Jean Pierre-Kanashiro (2011-12) and Matthew Eby (2003-06).

Team USA begins Group B play on June 21 against Japan in the 16-team Deaf World Cup. Russia and Greece are also in Group B.

Turkey won the 2012 Deaf World Cup with a victory over Egypt, 1-0. Team USA finished 12th overall aftering losing 4-3 to Greece in the knockout stage. Team USA went 1-1-1 in Group A play.
