Deaf Woman Singing

“I don’t use the word ‘can’t’ because I don’t believe in limiting myself. I am able. I am capable. I am strong. Never think less of yourself because society expects you to behave a certain way. We decide our own limits. I have chosen to have none.” -Amanda Marie Mcdonough

I am not delusional. I know my singing isn’t perfect. It is a work in progress but it makes me feel good to know that despite so many people telling me that “Deaf people can’t sing.” I am doing it. After all they never said I had to sing well. haha

I have had a lot of setbacks and challenges to overcome over the last few years on this journey of regaining my voice both my ability to speak clearly and my ability to sing. I still have a long way to go but I am so grateful t o everyone who continues to support and encourage me to keep fighting, learning and growing.
