RIT in :30 – African Percussion Ensemble

RIT in :30 is a video series about life at our university, a half-minute feature on the people, places and things that distinguish Rochester Institute of Technology – including the RIT African Percussion Ensemble.

The ensemble is comprised of a diverse group of students, faculty and staff who enjoy exploring the music and dance of a variety of African cultures. Focusing on West Africa, the core groups are Agbekor, which performs traditional Ghanaian and Senegalese music and dance, and World Beat, an experimental group that explores a wide range of ethnic music, infused with Jazz, world music, and popular forms.
