New Jersey Assembly Introduced Deaf Student’s Bill of Rights.

Assemblywoman Elizabeth Muoio introduced the “Deaf Student’s Bill of Rights” on June 29th, 2017, otherwise known as A5073. As far as the bill shows, it is quite similar to NAD Deaf Student’s Bill of Rights, but more expanded and more specific. According to the NAD, there are 13 states that has already enacted their own “Deaf Student’s Bill of Rights” or “Bill of Rights for Hearing and Deaf Children”.

The wording usually varies from state to state, however, for New Jersey, they wanted to focus on the student’s education. The bill has been introduced to the Assembly Education Committee for review.
