The video starts with a graphic that says “NTID 50th Anniversary Reunion / New England.” The graphic blurs into the background as a woman appears.
Laural Hartman stands in front of a grey background. She has wavy brown hair. She’s wearing a pink dress with a pattern of colorful wishbones.
Hi, everyone. My name is Laural Hartman, and I’m a lecturer in the Visual Communication Studies department here at NTID. I used to live in Roslindale in Boston and worked at The Learning Center for the Deaf.
I’m also a proud RIT/NTID alum. Some of you might even know me!
Well, I’m here today to let you know about a pretty cool event that’s coming your way.
As part of NTID’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, we’re hosting a Roadshow, with events in different cities around the country. And the first one is in Massachusetts!
Come to Wrentham near Boston on Sunday, September 24, from 2-5 p.m. for dinner, drinks, and a chance to meet people from all over New England. Anyone from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island and of course Massachusetts is welcome!
Really, the event is open to anyone who wants to attend; $30 will get you through the door. Just sign up at:
You’ll get to see Gerry Buckley, our president, give a talk and Sunshine 2.0 will give a performance you’ll never forget.
NTID is such a unique institution, and this celebration is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Come join us!
