Deaf man denied closed caption device at theatre

Jeffrey Liebman, who is deaf, was refused an English closed captioning device at Cinema Cineplex Odeon for the film Star Trek Into Darkness in 2013 because the film didn’t also have French closed captions. Three years later, the Quebec Human Rights Commission said it won’t bring the case before the Human Rights Tribunal. Video shot on Tuesday, September 13, 2016. (Dario Ayala / Montreal Gazette)
