Franco Bippus of Indiana School for the Deaf (2017-2018) is only two players to win back-to-back National Most Outstanding Player Awards.
He said the secret of becoming a great player in the academic bowl or generally that it takes a village to raise a child. The majority of parents believe it’s teacher’s responsibility to make their children successful. It’s not true. It requires a right environment outside of school such as in having parents, friends, others involved. Franco’s parent is heavily engaged with whatever he is involved, and his parent gives him plenty love to the point where he understands how vital his future is. He kindly asked all parents to remind themselves that it is not all about teachers making children successful.
He also mentioned that he didn’t bother to play any toy or game in his childhood time. He enjoyed reading books all the time. Where did he get his book love? It was his parent reading him a book in every night when he was a child that he was not old enough to understand books. Until the day he was old enough to read books on his own. He believes it’s part of who he is today.
Cool, right?! Congrats to Indiana School for the Deaf (ISD) for winning the Academic Bowl at Gallaudet last week!
