How is a decision reached?

After the consultation, the health professional will send a report back to the DWP for a team member to review.
The DWP team member then considers all the evidence, including any advice from the health professional and any additional evidence that you provide.
It is the DWP team member (not the health professional) that makes a decision on your PIP claim. They will decide which, if any, component applies, the length of your award and the date it will be reviewed, based on the likelihood of your hearing loss, or any other health conditions, changing.
