Read Time:1 Minute, 11 Second

Hello Friends, Oh yes…people call us blunt. Deaf blunt or worse, rude. But isn’t it about the differences in language & culture rather than a character flaw? We think so. Typically, English uses the “sandwhich approach” to give feedback. Here is an example: Nice comment+feedback+nice comment=no hurt feelings. In Deaf culture, typically, it is important to avoid any confusion… so we call it as we see it. There is an understanding that rudeness doesn’t play into it because we value clear communication so much. Isn’t culture fascinating? We think so. -Matt and Kay
