These are divided into 10 daily living activities and two mobility activities:
Daily living activities
• Preparing food
• Taking nutrition
• Managing therapy or monitoring a health condition
• Washing and bathing
• Managing toilet needs or incontinence
• Dressing and undressing
• Communicating verbally
• Reading
• Mixing with other people
• Making decisions about money.

Mobility activities
• Planning and following a journey
• Moving around.

The most important activity for people with hearing loss is ‘Communicating verbally’. See ‘Appendix: Daily living and mobility activities and descriptors’ to find out how points will be awarded under all of the activities.
