Canadians who live in Vancouver who are deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired will now be able to access 911 with a simple text message. A company called E-Comm, launched their services on Tuesday, will be the organization that answer 911 calls throughout Metro Vancouver. It is the first system in Canada that allows people with disabilities to communicate with emergency services.
Please note that this service is not available to the general public especially in the United States. E-Comm, however, hopes that their technology will eventually roll out for all Canadians soon!
