The event aims to create an opportunity for the hearing and hearing impaired community to bridge the gap through a fun and educational activity. With the cooperation of the Special Education Division of the Ministry of Education, iM4U invited 100 hearing impaired students between the ages of 10 and 18 for an afternoon workshop facilitated by SilentSHOUT (a social enterprise that works with the deaf and hearing) culminating with the performance by Altimet of his latest single “Aku Tahu”. Altimet joined volunteers and the hearing impaired children in the afternoon for the workshop which comprised activities like a film screening, spelling bee contest, charades and other games. He was extremely touched when the children joined in the sign language performance dedicated to them. “I want to do this because the deaf are often ignored by people in my line of work. And I’m a lyricist, I want to share my words with everyone” – Altimet
