NBC Nightly News had a brief story about a 8 year old Zeke Ortiz who is the only deaf player on the Playmakers basketball team, NBC Jenna Wolfe reported the story. He already knows he wants to be a pro basketball player. His dad is his main interpreter during the games. Plus a nice game of HORSE against Jenna Wolfe. Totally cool story. Wonder who won the game of HORSE? We’ll let you find out on your own!

DID YOU KNOW?: Zeke, his 10-year-old brother Zion, their parents, grandparents and nine cousins are all deaf.

JUST ONE OF THE BOYS: 8-year-old Zeke Ortiz is the only deaf player on the Playmakers basketball team, but that’s not slowing him down. NBC’s Jenna Wolfe reports tonight. http://nbcnews.to/1LvbnJs

“It’s a gift to be deaf,” Ortiz said. “There’s no reason to let being deaf be a barrier for us in any way.”

Good Luck to Zeke and the Playmakers  who will be going to the AAU National Championship game in Maryland.
