In a heartbreaking story, the Deaf International Football Association reported that Yana Budyukina died in Brazil after being hit by a car on June 30th, 2015. There is very little information being given out due to privacy to the family, however, they announced that they want to bring her body back home from Brazil. Her family are looking into fundraising over $15,000/900,000 Rubles. Many on Twitter and Facebook are offering their sadness and condolences to Yana Budyukina and her family.

A football lover at heart, Yana Budyukina played football at a young age and made the cut to represent her country for the the 2009 and 2013 Deaflympics. In 2009, her team won the bronze medal and then in 2013 her team won the silver medal. Not only did she have a passion for football, but she also had a passion to travel.
