DCARA: VRI: Your Rights and Advocacy

Hi this is Susan Gonzalez here at DCARA

Last Tuesday October 27th a good group discussed and asked questions about Video Relay Interpreting (VRI)

It was really cool!

Now the second workshop is next week Friday November 6th

The workshop is the result of a collaboration with five agencies

They are: DCARA, NorCal Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, BEADHH-Bay Epicenter of Advocacy for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, DREDF-Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund, and DRC-Disability Rights California

The November 6th workshop is about VRI advocacy, techniques, and tips

It will be at the DCC-Deaf Community Center

The morning will have a panel of awesome individuals from different organizations/agencies

First is US Department of Justice DOJ, Disability Rights Advocates, Purple Communications, Malka Communications, and a freelance interpreter

I am so excited about this panel!

The morning program is from 10A-12P. We break for lunch at 12Noon. Free! lunch will be served.

The afternoon program will have break out groupss-either two or three groups.

The doors open at 930AM; Come register and take a look at the different resource tables.

Program starts at 10AM.
