ASL Version of the Following Announcement:
The fifty stakeholders of the Collaborative Plan Summit hosted by the Commission of Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing Minnesotans identified a need for professionals to have an opportunity to obtain information about the most recent research and practice in Deaf/DeafBlind/Hard of Hearing (D/DB/HH) education. The Collaborative Experience, a professional conference, was implemented in 2015 to serve this purpose.
This year’s Collaborative Experience will be held at Breezy Point Resort just north of Brainerd, MN. The conference dates are Thursday, March 31st – Saturday, April 2nd.
Over 300 professionals from following areas are expected to attend:
Teachers of D/HH students,
Teachers of D/B students ,
Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors,
Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) and
Public Health Professionals.
Keynote presenters include national experts on the topics:
•What’s Really Happening in Literacy Education? Lessons from a National Study (Susan Easterbrooks, PhD)
•Social and Emotional Functioning and its Impact on Academic Success (Mark Rosica, PhD)
•Weaving Strong Connections in Mainstream Settings (Linda Lytle, PhD)
