The dance got rave reviews (Picture: XposurePhotos)
Dancing With The Stars has made history by debuting the first same-sex couple.
Monday’s episode saw the introduction of the ‘team-up’ challenge, where the judges put together two couples each and choreographed a team dance for them.
Model Nyle DiMarco and his partner Peta Murgatroyd were paired with actress Jodie Sweetin and her dance partner Keo Motsepe for an Argentine Tango, choreographed by Bruno Tonioli.
The dance itself was incredible, with the judges exclaiming at the end how they couldn’t tell the difference between the professionals and the amateurs, but it was the point mid-way through that really got everyone’s attention.
The couples broke off and new pairings were made – Nyle DiMarco, who happens to be deaf, began dancing with pro Keo Motsepe while Peta and Jodie partnered up.
The performance was so incredible that judges Len Goodman and Carrie Ann awarded them 10 points each, while the public’s vote scored them nine.
Nyle later said of being lifted instead of doing the lifting: ‘Well, it’s a different experience. Usually I’m lifting Peta but… should it only be for a woman?’
