The ‘America’s Next Top Model’ winner pulled off a ‘DwtS’ first

Nyle DiMarco, the ‘sexually fluid’ winner of America’s Next Top Model, this week made history on Dancing with the Stars as one of the participants in the show’s first ever same-sex dance.

DiMarco and his partner Peta Murgatroyd were paired with Jodie Sweetin and Keo Motsepe, for a dance they worked on with judge Bruno Tonioli. What began as a straightforward dance to ‘Habanero’ by Georges Bizet became a lot more memorable as the dancers separated and came together again in same-sex pairings.

DiMarco also impressed in his dance on Monday night, as his paso doble included a section in silence, to convey his experience as a deaf person, a touch which left judge Carrie Ann Inaba fighting back tears.
