CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD
30th Anniversary Celebration
With Academy Award-winning actress, Marlee Matlin
SAN LEANDRO, CA. SEPTEMBER 17, 2016. DCARA will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the ground-breaking film, CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD, with a once-in-a-lifetime special event.
Marlee Matlin will share stories and remembrances from her Academy Award and Golden Globe-winning role. Clips from the film, selected by Marlee, will be shown to bring her tales of making the film to life.
Joining Marlee will be her long-time interpreter, Jack Jason, a former DCARA employee and resident of San Leandro.
There will also be VIP event, before the discussion of CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD, which will enable participants to socialize and mingle with Marlee.
Magic Matt Morgan will also add his mixture of illusion and comedy as part of the event.
The schedule of events, all taking place at the Bal Theater on Saturday, September 17 is:
- 1:00 PM: Full showing of CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD. $10 (Cash only)
- 5:00 – 7:00 PM: VIP Party. $100 (Tickets bought in advance. $125 at the door.)
- 7:00 PM: Doors open for main event.
- 8:00 PM: Main event – Marlee Matlin and her memories of CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD, with Magic Matt Morgan.
This event is designed to be enjoyed by both Deaf and Hearing people.
