Transcript: [Eric, a white man, is standing in front of a blue background] The poem “Heaven, Why So High?” is about how much I love you. It is divided into three parts. In the first part, I ask heaven why it is so high when you are underneath it. I insist that heaven lower itself because you are heaven. When you are here, the desert turns into a green paradise with oases. In the second part, I rely on your perfection as if it is a metal bar that my needs hook on. I ride on a swing and spin around you. If the ropes are detached from you, I would likewise detach my mind and the cut ropes become my insanity. I will need a friend (or many) to get me through this journey together. The third part is about your hesitancy. Do you want it or do you not? You weigh your options on a scale. In the meantime, I am anguished not knowing if we will be together.
