Kriston Lee Pumphrey selected to perform National Anthem in ASL at Super Bowl LI

FOX and NFL has announced today that Country Superstar Luke Bryan will sing the National Anthem as part of the Super Bowl Li pregame festivities and Kriston Lee Pumphrey will be signing the ASL portion of the song alongside with Luke Bryan.

Kriston Lee Pumphrey is a well-known actor in the Deaf Community and is known mostly as a newscaster/lead anchor on D-TV News.

Kriston Lee Pumphrey is a performing artist who is working as a news anchor at the Deaf Professional Arts Network (DPAN-TV). Kriston Lee graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2009 with a degree in business and communication. Kriston Lee has been involved in politics for some time and not only has he co-founded ColorFest, a Deaf LGBT leadership conference for college students that is hosted both at Gallaudet University and the National Technical Institute for the Deaf. He also has been extremely involved on the board of a D.C. based nonprofit organization that strives to end sexual assault and domestic violence within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
