Lauren Ridloff, known as Connie from The Walking Dead, has been casted to play Makkari in Marvel’s new movie, The Eternals. This makes Lauren the first deaf superhero in the MCU. While Hawkeye and Echo may be two deaf superheros previously in comics, and Makkari is not actually deaf in the comics, it does not erase the fact that Lauren is in fact the first deaf superhero in the MCU because Hawkeye is hearing in the MCU and Echo does not yet exist there.
