Hello Everyone, my name is Diedre Tanenberg, DCARA Board Secretary. I’m excited to announce the upcoming community town hall meeting, guided and facilitated by the board members of DCARA. The town hall will be taking place on Tuesday, June 9th from 6 pm to 8 pm PST. Where? Zoom and live streamed on Facebook via DCARA’s FB Page. As much as we would love to see your faces in person, Zoom will have to do. The intention behind this community meeting is to “show up” and actively engage in a healthy dialogue that benefits the future of DCARA. We would like to acknowledge the structure of the past board, and recognize those who have contributed to their time, energy to volunteer and serve the community. We understand this is not an easy task to undertake given the current circumstances. We understand that there are more questions than there are answers. However, we strongly believe in the mission and values of DCARA as an organization that serves so many. Let’s come together to discuss what the future holds for DCARA. For A better today, and a better tomorrow. This is a call for a change in organizational structure of the Board which will serve as the surrounding theme of the Board Retreat with a training/workshop to unpack important things.
We would like to use this opportunity to address organizational concerns from the community with the intent to listen to what your concerns are. Document them. While there are no quick solutions, we can devise a plan to address these efficiently and communicate at future board meetings.
We would love to hear from you, our beloved community, ideas and suggestions for workshops/training on:
1) Fundraising in a COVID19 climate.
2) Financial report outlook, what we should be looking out for in the coming months/year.
3) Briefly tap into the Board Recruitment process.
4) Finally something new and exciting! A task force focused on getting our youth engaged in the non-profit sector.
Just to name a few to start with. Have thoughts, questions, ideas. Want to be an attendee on Zoom? Or just share in email. Please email me at: email@example.com
See you on Tuesday, June 9th at 6 pm PST on Zoom/FB Live Stream.
