[Split screen. To the left is ASL interpreter Nic Zapko. To the right is the original video. The video begins with clips of Governor Pawlenty physically moving to sit down in the char, followed by Governors Dayton, Walz, and Ventura seated in the same chair.]
Governor Pawlenty: We’ve all had the pleasure of serving as Governor of this great state.
Governor Walz: While we may not agree on every issue,
Governor Ventura: we all agree that this election, is the most important election of our lifetime.
Governor Walz: Minnesotans are proud to have the highest voter turnout in our nation,
Governor Pawlenty: and we expect this year to be no different.
Governor Dayton: So make your voices heard and vote.
Governor Walz: Vote.
Governor Ventura: Go vote.
Governor Pawlenty: Our state is proud to have one of the safest and most secure election systems in the whole country.
Governor Walz: With so many of us voting by mail, it may take a little longer to verify a winner.
Governor Pawlenty: And that’s okay. It’s by design.
Governor Ventura: A delay just means that our system is working and that we’re counting every single ballot.
Governor Dayton: There may not be a clear winner on election night.
Governor Pawlenty: But no matter who wins, let’s demonstrate the civility and decency that Minnesotans are known for.
Governor Walz: There’s so much more that unites us than divides us.
Governor Ventura: So let’s show the country there’s a better way.
[Clips of Governor Pawlenty with his mask; then Governor Dayton with his mask; then Governor Ventura with his mask; and finally Governor Walz with his mask. Governor Walz then leaves the chair. Nic finishes her interpretation, puts on her mask, and leaves her chair.]
