Gov. Gavin Newsom announced new updates for several counties in California, of which eleven counties have been pushed back to a restrictive tier (purple color), after seeing an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases. This is based on the four-tier, color coded classification system, introduced by Gov. Newsom last August, that tells us which counties can move forward or backward with business reopenings.

PURPLE – Widespread (VERY SERIOUS)
RED – Substantial (Serious)
ORANGE – Moderate (Medium)
YELLOW – Minimal (Low)
You can look for more information on which county and what kind of business or activity is or isn’t allowed to reopen at the link in the transcript.
San Francisco Mayor London Breed announced the city is being forced to push back on its reopening plans and eliminate indoor dining starting Friday due to a spike in COVID-19 cases. Starting on Friday, Nov. 13 at 11:59 p.m., S.F. will temporarily restrict reopening of indoor dining and will reduce the capacity of gyms and movie theaters to 25% capacity of a maximum of 50 people, reduced from 100 people maximum, or whichever is lesser.
Outdoor dining and take-out, elementary and middle schools, certain offices, retail shopping, personal services, and family activities such as museums and aquariums are still allowed to operate.
Keep in mind that while these new changes are in place, the need to maintain physical distancing, face coverings, and continuing to follow cleaning of surfaces, use of hand sanitizers, and hand washing is still required.
We encourage you to be mindful of upcoming cooler weather, which means more people staying indoors and increasing the possibility of transmitting the virus. Please check for hours of operations for certain businesses and services before you head out the door. Stay safe.
