Hello! Today I am here to talk about the new State order called:
Regional Stay Home Order.
This was set into place by Governor Gavin Newsom.
Why was this order put in place?
Hospitals, doctors, and nurses are doing what they can to manage an increase of patients,
These patients are seriously sick and are increasingly using up all available ICU beds.
Hospitals are overwhelmed and they cannot help this many patients at once.
What does the Regional Stay Home Order do?
It is a 3 week stay at home order that restricts travel to critical services only.
*Order may be extended longer than 3 weeks.
Only critical things like getting food, or going to work.
You need to stay home for 3 weeks.
What does it mean by “regional”. California is split into 5 of the following areas:
Number 1, Northern California.
Number 2, Bay Area.
Number 3, Greater Sacramento.
Number 4, San Joaquin Valley.
Number 5 Southern California.
These are 5 groups that include several counties.
Northern California: Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Lake, Lassen, Mendocino, Modoc, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, Trinity
Bay Area: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma
Greater Sacramento: Alpine, Amador, Butte, Colusa, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, Sierra, Sutter, Yolo, Yuba
San Joaquin Valley: Calaveras, Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, San Benito, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Tulare, Tuolumne
Southern California: Imperial, Inyo, Los Angeles, Mono, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura
This order is to ensure there are enough available ICU beds.
If any of the 5 areas has less than 15% available beds
then the stay at home order goes into effect 24hours after, or the next day.
So how will you know what to do, and when your county has a stay t home order? Visit this website:
