We are excited to share our public education team with the world!
HEARD’s Public Education Team (PET) is a group of community members that meets twice weekly to learn from and grow with one another. PET will learn about various topics, share and develop signs to explain these topics, then educate the community through vlogs, webinars, research and more. HEARD’s PET is comprised of formerly incarcerated people, families of currently and formerly incarcerated people, and community members who have not been directly impacted. The goal is to share information in sign languages and learn from one another to better prepare our communities to work together to provide the resources and support disabled communities need to challenge all forms of oppressions and incarceration.
Meet a few members of HEARD’s Public Education Team.
