For years, deaf people have gotten hearing aids, cochlear implants, etc. shoved down our throats from audiologists and regular hearing people alike. While these devices have their uses and some of us deaf people will get them and find them useful, we are indeed victims of a society that thinks that hearing aids and cochlear implants are a cure or a perfect fix for hearing loss when that’s simply not true.
From a deaf perspective, allow me to share one of my biggest frustrations with you.
