First, make sure to press 011 first before typing in the international phone number. Second, type in the country area code. This is the first number of a phone number – for example, the USA has 1 as their country area code. The United Kingdom has 44. Each country has their own area code that you need to dial in. This means you need to type 011, then type in the country code, and finally their phone number at the end to make a call. Third, share with your interpreter that you’re making an international call, so they can be aware of it. If calling a business, let them know that you’d like to speak to someone who knows English.
